Migrant Student-Specific Scholarships

Administered by Boces Geneseo Migrant Center

Harvest of Hope Foundation

Emergency financial aid to migrant farmworkers and their families.

Vehicle repairs, housing rents/deposits, utility payments, medicine, medical services, food, clothing, school supplies, funeral expenses.

Frank Kazmierczak Memorial Migrant Scholarship

 

Administered by Boces Geneseo Migrant Center

Supports migrant students with teaching as a career goal

$1,000 award

Deadline: July 1 - Annual Scholarship


Migrant Farmworker Baccalaureate Scholarship

 

Administered by Boces Geneseo Migrant Center

Supports migrant students who have completed at least one year of college

Can be used while in college, or after graduation to repay educational loans

Up to $2,000 award per year; multiple year funding available

Deadline: October 15 - Annual Scholarship


Hispanic Scholarship Fund

 

Supports students of Hispanic heritage pursuing associates, bachelors, and graduate degrees. Awards vary, generally $1,000 to $3,000


CAMP

 

College Assistance Migrant Program (CAMP): Migrant students who are United State citizens or have permanent residents are eligible. Students who have been employed in seasonal farm work or are from a farm worker family whose members have been employed in farm work (any work related to agriculture, forestry or fisheries) at least 75 days within the past 24 months are also eligible. Federal aid. Migrant students who are United States citizens or have permanent resident status should complete and submit a Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) Form in the late winter of their senior year. Awards are based on financial need. Student repays loan at a low interest rate following graduation from college.

Earning funds through public service. The Corporation for National Service offers many opportunities for migrant students to earn money for continued education. Students receive a small stipend while gaining experience in providing public service.

Earning funds through military service. Enlistment in the armed forces can give a student the opportunity to travel outside the US, learn a specific trade, and earn continuing education benefits.
