Welcome to SEMY

Innovative Strategies

The Office of Secondary Education for Migrant Youth (SEMY) seeks your participation in an exchange of innovative strategies, resource and materials that help secondary school age (grades 6-12) migrant youth in the State of Washington remain in school and graduate.

We hope that you will share your strategies so that others can replicate your successes. Use this site as a resource for new and innovative ways to help migrant students and the schools that serve them to succeed.

We seek strategies that help schools and students achieve the Washington State Office of Superintendent of Public Instruction (OSPI) and the Migrant and Bilingual Education Program goals.

Process:

Each innovative strategy appears in a format that provides an outline of specific information and a 500 or fewer word narrative related to an innovative strategy. Contributors complete one on-line form for each strategy. SEMY staff contact the identified person on the submission to request a hard copy of supplemental and supporting information.

Website guests may contact the contributor to seek further information and replication guidance.
